meet the founder
Hello! My name is Gabbie Veevers-Carter.
I am a licensed clinical social worker based in New York City.
My goal is to help clients uncover their true potential and lead lives worth celebrating.
I have been practicing social work since 2012, but my work experience extends to clean technology, human resources, interior design, event planning, and education.
My counseling style is humorous, compassionate, and transparent. I listen with empathy but I am also going to maintain accountability. I'm on your side, which means offering the support for you to be your best self.
If you are looking for extra support and guidance through a challenging situation or just feel ready to move your life in a new direction, I am here to listen and help you identify and achieve your personal, professional, and academic goals.
We will collaborate to help you better understand and resolve challenges in your life so that you can achieve a sense of confidence and stability, even in the face of chaos. Together, we will unearth long-standing behavior patterns or negative perceptions that may be holding you back from experiencing a more fulfilling, meaningful, and successful life. By applying creative therapeutic approaches and techniques, I will help you move away from distress and promote your sense of self-awareness, strength, and confidence.
My approach is practical and progressive. I believe in meeting clients where they are, emotionally and geographically. As such, I offer virtual sessions via phone or video to ensure that clients have access to therapeutic services that conveniently fit into their day-to-day lives. I earned my undergraduate degree in psychology at Elon University and my master's degree in clinical social work at New York University. Additional clinical and training experiences include Rachel Stein Therapy, Mount Sinai Medical Center, Ackerman Institute for the Family, Metro Behavioral Health Associates Eating Disorder Centers, Grace Institute, and St. Barnabas Hospital.
